The Meteor is a decoration in Jailbreak which has existed since the beginning of the game. The UFO was previously located here, which was added in the Alien Update. It was located in the Mountainside Town, near the Donut Shop, but was later moved to the Military Base.
In the 7 Year Anniversary 2024 Live Update, a second meteor was added near its old location, being in between the Mountainside Town and Volcano Criminal Base.
Overview
Before the Rocket Fuel Update, the meteor was black. Since the Rocket Fuel Update, it started glowing purple and there was Rocket Fuel surrounding it. This hinted that Rocket Fuel came from the Meteor. In the 1B Visits Update, the Meteor grew bigger, cracks appeared on it, and more Rocket Fuel appeared around it. The cracks and the growth of the Meteor hinted at the Alien Update. In the Alien Update, the Meteor cracked open in half, and the UFO spawned inside of it. When the Meteor cracked open, it also revealed that there was purple lava under the Meteor. The purple lava doesn't damage players, unlike the lava inside of the Volcano. As of the Military Base Update, the Meteor now resides inside the Military Base and the UFO no longer spawns inside the meteor.
Evolution
The Meteor has been in the game since day one. It was an Easter Egg at the original location. The appearance was small and dark. Back then, not a lot of players knew the meteor existed. This gained slightly more attention in mid-2017 when more infrastructure was added near the Town. Additionally, conspiracy theories showed signs of possible aliens being added into Jailbreak.
In the Rocket Fuel Update, the Meteor has grown larger and turned purple. More theories came about the possibility of aliens being added to Jailbreak. Over the next two months, the meteor kept on growing larger and more cracks appearing.
In the April Fools 2018 Update, the Meteor finally cracked open, resulting in the addition of the UFO. The Rocket Fuel particles slowly faded away. By March 2019, a Monster Truck was pulling the Meteor and UFO towards somewhere.
The UFO spawned there from April 1st, 2018 to March 24th, 2019. Now, the UFO spawns at the Top Secret Research Barrack of the Military Base. The Meteor, has now placed to the left of the Barrack, which is near the entrance. Over time, Rocket Fuel particles releases and the Purple color was slowing fade away.
Before the Tomb Update, the Meteor is still at the Military Base and the Rocket Fuel particles has completely went away as a result, color is completely black once again. This was updated in an update. It was moved, alongside the Military Base in the Tomb Update.
In the 2022 edition of the 5 Days of Vehicles event, the Meteor along with the Military Base was moved to the new location of Cactus Valley. This occurred on Day 4 of the event. (Thursday, November 3, 2022)
After the 7th Anniversary Live Event on April 20, 2024, the purple meteor formerly found in Mountainside Town was added again in the update. The meteor in the Military Base was not moved meaning that there are now two meteors in Jailbreak.

Trivia
- After the 1B Visits Update, a Rocket Fuel patch in the shape of the "1" was added right next to the Meteor. This was hinting the 1 Year Update.
- After the 1 Year Update, it was removed.
- This was one of the only locations that had a vehicle directly inside, being the UFO, before the vehicle moved to the Top Secret Hanger at the Military Base.
- A meerkat (Easter Egg) can be seen in the meteor at the Military Base.
- There are constant particles going up into the air around the meteor.
- Ever since the Rocket Fuel Update, there is now Rocket Fuel surrounding the Meteor. This Rocket Fuel is only cosmetic and is not a usable source.
- In the Mint Update, the meteor was slightly towed towards the road leading to the Volcano Criminal Base, possibly hinting its involvement in the construction of a building in the desert.
- As of the Military Update, the Meteor now resides in the corner of the Military Base, behind the Top-Secret Research Barrack. It is unknown if it will be reused for a future update, but it won't be used most likely, due to the fact the UFO is now bigger then the Meteor itself and the Meteor's shell is completely black.
- As of now, the original meteor is located next to the garage barrack.
