Helicopter Abilities are vehicle features that can only be found and used on helicopter-type vehicles. This vehicle type consists of the Helicopter, Escape Bot, Little Bird, Black Hawk and UFO.
The two abilities present in vehicles, the Rope and the Spotlight, are helpful in a number of situations, such as assistance, game balancing, and even certain robberies.
Helicopter Abilities
Overview
The Helicopter Spotlights, also known as Spotlights are a feature exclusive to helicopters (and the helicopter-like Drone). In the teaser, the Helicopter is used to show off the feature. There are two colors for the spotlight, white and yellow, white appearing on the Helicopter, Little Bird, and Drone, and yellow appearing on the Black Hawk; the colors of the spotlight cannot be customized.
Functionality
Drivers can enable and disable spotlights by pressing the "L" Key on the keyboard, which is the same as land vehicles. They are able to aim the spotlight 360 degrees with the mouse cursor. Criminals (including those in vehicles) will be slowed down if a spotlight from a police officer is shone on them.

Overview
The Rope is exclusive to aerial vehicles in Jailbreak. They can be found on the Helicopter, Black Hawk, Escape Bot, Little Bird and the UFO.
The Rope allows players to interact with an aerial vehicle from the ground and also gives a way of getting into the vehicle without having to land it. It can be very useful for criminals because they could help prisoners who need to escape prison while keeping a safe distance from Police below. The Rope can only hold one person.
Since the Cargo Ship Update, Ropes have the ability to attach to empty vehicles (that are not helicopters, excluding the Drone or UFO), as well as the cargo crates on the Cargo Ship. Ropes can also connect to occupied vehicles, but it takes a significantly longer amount of time, and the connected vehicle is much heavier while occupied.
Functionality
The driver can press "G" (rope button on mobile) in order to activate the rope. This will allow the user to pick up other players if they hold "E" (Y on console, press and hold on mobile) on the rope, to pick up vehicles, and to pick up Cargo Ship crates.
If the vehicle is unlocked while a player is attached to the rope, when the rope is retracted, they will be teleported inside the vehicle into a random seat, but only if all the seats inside the helicopter are not already occupied.

Trivia
- The Rope was a fan-suggested feature after an image on the Jailbreak game page showed criminals escaping the prison on a Rope.
- The Black Hawk was the first vehicle to have a Rope.
- The Rope on the Black Hawk was originally going to be pulled and released using "F"; but when missiles were added, the Rope was now dropped and raised using "G", while missiles now use the F key. (Mobile and Xbox players were not affected by this change.)
- When flying downwards and the Rope is lowered, it will stay inside the aerial vehicle and not drop. This can be fixed by raising it and lowering it again.
- Despite the Rope having a lowering animation, the Rope just disappears when it is raised and teleports the player into a random seat.
- Certain glitches can be performed with the Rope, mainly for police entering areas which supposedly only criminals can enter.
- This can no longer be performed in most robberies, with a feature kicking players out of their vehicle if they get too close to a heist location.
- If a group robbed the Museum and a member rides on the Rope on a helicopter, the driver will still assistance cash for helping the other criminal.
- If the driver presses "G" while the vehicle is locked or all the passenger seats have players in them, the player who is holding onto the Rope will get kicked off it and may take fall damage.
- If a player jumps off or is forced off the Rope, they will not receive a parachute and will drop to the ground, invoking fall damage if from a high enough height.
- For a long time, Mobile and Xbox users could not get off the Rope, unless the driver pulled them up. A change was made in the second day of the Return of 5 Days 5 Vehicles Update to where Mobile and Xbox users can now get off the rope.
- The Rope can be used in the Cargo Ship robbery. It has the ability to grab on a container. It also can be used to attach any empty vehicles.
- There is currently a bug where helicopters will become unresponsive to control inputs other than "G" if they attempt to attach to the Sloop, Cruiser, Jet Ski and ATV.
- When helicopters tow vehicles or containers, the acceleration and top speed slows down by a significant amount. The helicopter will also slowly descend due to the crate's/vehicle's weight.
- In the July 2nd, 2020 update, a Rope was added to the UFO.
- There are two patched glitches of towing vehicles before the feature was added.
- The first being attached to the Rope while having the ability to enter a vehicle.
- The second is using the Mobile Garage Gamepass to spawn a vehicle while attaching to the Rope at the same time.
- Players cannot arrest prisoners while they are hanging on the rope, however they can eject them.
